🎂 Cake Day! Four years ago I made my first Reddit post. One picture changed everything.

🎂 Cake Day! Four years ago I made my first Reddit post. One picture changed everything.
Four years ago, I nervously posted my very first picture on Reddit. I had no tripod, no Bluetooth shutter, no photography experience—just a phone balanced in the window blinds, a timer, and enough courage to step into the frame.
Looking back at that first photo, I don't see something to be embarrassed about. I see the beginning of Jade.
Over the past four years I've learned about makeup, lighting, posing, and style. But the biggest change wasn't any of those.
One day I looked at a photo and my first thought was, "Who's that?" For just a moment, I didn't recognize myself. Then it hit me—it was Jade. That was the moment I realized I no longer needed FaceApp to see her. I deleted it that day, because for the first time I felt like the person in the picture was already there.
That's why I'm sharing these photos today. Not because this is a "look how far I've come" post, but because I hope someone who is just starting sees them and realizes we all begin somewhere. None of us starts with perfect makeup, perfect outfits, or perfect confidence. We grow one picture at a time.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me over these past four years. Your kindness, advice, and friendship have meant more than you know. As moderator, one of my greatest joys has been watching others begin their own journeys and find the confidence to share that very first photo.
Here's to four wonderful years, to this amazing community, and to everyone who is just beginning their own story. ❤️
