Finished! Used stain...

My camera isn't playing nice and is making my finished product look lighter than it is.

The one photo is a screenshot from 1001canvas. The other is mine with stain wiped on and then off. I wanted it to look antique, kind of like it does on the site.

* 48 colors

* 1001canvas website, wonderful customer service

* I always do two coats though

* The paint was a wonderful consistency

* Used the brushes that came with it

* Stretched it onto a frame 40x50 centimeters that I bought unassembled from Amazon.

* (I don't know how the italics happened)I will return to this seller some day but have 5 PBNs in the wings.

I feel like I wasted a lot of paint. Some colors were only used in one area.

I think this took a month of 2 hour sessions. Not sure, as I don't keep track .

I found a great company!

No, I don't get kick backs from them, lol! I'm one of this sub's members that usually buys from A m a z o n.

1001 (no space) canvas! I sing their praises so far.

I needed a big, stretched canvas for our living room. I worked closely with customer service to get it right as it was a lot for me to spend. They (shout out to R o b b) always got back to me within a day though I know it arrives from China.

Timely arrival, beautiful texture with the paints, so far great coverage, a small tiny color to the canvas to make it easier for my eyes. Other canvases from them are mailed rolled up. They have different sizes etc which is nice.

After getting about 1/3 of the way through one of their Klimt-style women, I realized the skin color was off. I emailed customer service, they apologized and emailed me different looks for my 48 colors. Then they sent me a new one!!

It was hung up in shipping but I'm used to that for T e m u and said nothing. They emailed me to state they don't see the package moving from CA so they sent me ANOTHER one, this one express courier. Got it in less than a week. They also emailed me a generous coupon for further purchases. I will be back.

Plz give them a try. I rarely see them mentioned and they should be.

This is a regular size one, a sunset. I have my paints in view so you can see how I put them in numerical order for easy use.

Thx for reading all this! And plz AI, don't take this down as I am not breaking any rules.

I'm done! I love it but...

I had this on my Amazon wish list for a long time because I loved it. Little did I know it would be the biggest pain to paint, haha! I now know why it's marked down to under $4.00! I'm still finding things!

* I know it's AI. AI slop to be exact!

* The cat's white fur was coded to be grey green.

* The white on the birds was coded wrong too.

* I had to paint the eye correctly, it was wrong.

* Although the frame is specifically 40x50cm, not inches, the printed canvas was too small for the frame.

* For the first time ever, the paint on my border seeped.

* The "canvas" is very thin!

* Some of the birds have shortened wings.

* There was a bright green blob by the window border I had to paint over. I don't know what it was supposed to be.

The paints were actually nice! Covered decent and nice and creamy.

I'm glad I did it for Christmas but I'm glad I'm done, lol!

Setting this aside soon

I wanted to get a good start on this so I'm not rushing before winter. 8 will soon hopefully start a different one.

This is a kitty PBN kit I fell in love with that had a lot wrong. I got it from Amazon and liked it so much that I did not care that things weren't quite right. (Last I looked it was under $4.00)

As you may remember, the kitty and now the birds are numbered wrong. I fixed the kitty and soon will fix the birds. The canvas is too little for a 40cmx50cm stretcher frame so I will put a finished frame on it.

But!! The paint is nice and covers in two coats, maybe one but I always do two coats

Can't wait to do the snowflakes, it will come alive!

Progress before it is put away

I just wanted to post a picture of where I am before I put it away for a bit. I always finish one before going to a new one but a new one for me to paint for our LR arrives today.

Some of you mentioned you wanted to see my work on the kitty. It was misnumbered so I had to redo and put white over the grey and add details in white.

The second photo is what it first looked like.

Eek! Look up once in awhile!

I had been wanting this PBN from Amazon for a LONG time. Finally ordered it so I could get it done for winter as I have others in the way.

I was really getting into it! Smooth paints, nice coverage, I painted the cat's body first. I was having fun and continued with the face not realizing the colors were wrong! Such a stupid thing on my part!

First photo is from the seller, second photo is the huge oops! And third photo is me trying to fix it.

Have you ever done this? I'll finish more of the white on the cat after I do some background. Any tips? Thank you!

Finished a Paintly set part 2

Oh my goodness I did not post the painting! Here's my copy/paste from my original and I will try and take that one down.

PASTE: Finished a Paintly set

If you read my previous post you know I ordered this back in November. Still, the paints were wonderful to work with!

I substituted 2 colors with exact colors from previous kits because I could see through them. The others covered in one coat, even the white! The paint was very smooth and I used the included brushes. I ordered it stretched on a frame.

Customer service reached out and contacted me, even though I had no problems, which was nice.

When I was done I felt there was way too much florescent green so I used the three other greens to create leaves and break up that color. I still felt that bright green was too much so I went over it with one coat of Minwax Early American color and wiped it off immediately.

For the sides I used 6 different colors of brown leftover from kits and mixed them with a ton of water.

I'm happy with it and I hope you like it

The paints re: Paintly

This is my WIP. Although I originally posted under a different post that I did not like my Paintly paints, I have to retract that. Of 24 colors only 3 so far have allowed the numbers to show through. All the others have covered in ONE coat!!

The three that did not cover? I subbed in pots I had on hand. So far there are only two colors that I have changed or will change.

I bought this before Thanksgiving which is toward the end of November. None of the pots were dried out when opened and the paints glide on smoothly.

How great to have coverage with just one coat!
