Why did Alex Carr spiral out on CNBC today?

Can someone explain to me why Alex Carr was attacking the frontier models today?

Do I need a camera lens protector on the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max?

Just picked up an iPhone 17 Pro Max and I’m shopping for a case.

Most cases seem to have a raised lip around the camera bump, but I’m seeing a lot of separate camera lens protectors being sold too.

For those of you who’ve used recent iPhones (15/16/17):

*Do you use a separate lens protector?

*Have you ever actually scratched a camera lens?

*Does a good case with a raised camera lip provide enough protection?

*Any issues with glare, image quality, or flash reflection from lens protectors?

I’m planning to use a case, but I’m not sure if the lens protector is necessary or just another accessory companies are trying to sell.

Curious what everyone’s real-world experience has been. Thanks!

I’m trying to switch between a MacBook Pro (M-series) and a Windows machine on a Samsung 49” ultrawide (5120x1440), and I’m running into a wall with KVM switches.

Most of what I’m finding tops out at 4K or uses HDMI, which seems to kill full ultrawide resolution. Even some of the “8K” or USB-C dock KVMs look like they’re using DisplayLink or MST, which I’m guessing won’t give true native 5120x1440.

Has anyone here actually gotten a KVM working cleanly at full ultrawide resolution?

Specifically curious about:

Whether DisplayPort 1.4 KVMs actually hold 5120x1440 without scaling issues

If MacBooks behave differently than Windows in this setup

Any models that actually work (not just spec sheet claims) Or if the move is just skipping KVM and switching inputs on the monitor

Trying to avoid wasting a few hundred bucks testing the wrong hardware. Appreciate any real-world setups or lessons learned.
