A friend of mine currently uses an iPhone 15 and is planning to upgrade. She's considering the iPhone 17 Pro, but I suggested she look at the iPhone 18 Pro instead.
For those who follow iPhones closely or have experience with the Pro models, what would you recommend?
Would you buy the discounted iPhone 17 Pro or spend more on the iPhone 18 Pro?

I'm particularly interested in real-world differences in camera quality, battery life, performance, and overall value for money. If you were in her position, which one would you choose, and why?

I have a mint condition iPhone 14 Pro with 100 percent battery health, unlocked, with 256gb on iOS 18.6.2 in dark purple. I’m curious what I should put the price on it and where’s the best place to sell? It’s definitely a super nice one. I’ve never seen one in this good of condition before it looks like it’s straight out of the box.

So, in the market for a new phone. Currently rocking a OnePlus 8 Pro, coming up to 6 years of use. Lost confidence in the battery, and cracked the camera, which is resulting in bad photos in the sun.

Looking at the current offerings, the Android options aren't interesting me. Most are Chinese brands, or basically Samsung.

With Apple, I have waited until the 18 Pro to come out before making a decision. The phones look nice, but I am torn on if I should get the 18 Pro, or wait for the potential Air 2.

• OnePlus 8 Pro - Quite a tall phone but slimmer
• 18 Pro - Feels a bit small in the hand, but Reddit seems to have positive things to say about the form factor, could get used to it?
• 18 Pro Max - Nice screen, but slightly wide. Worried it will get heavy with a case and such. Reddit (overall) expressing weight of the phone can get a bit much
• Air - Loved the thinness, but the battery size, 1 camera and speaker concerns put me off. Why buy a new phone because my battery is dying, if I then get a phone with a short battery life?
• Air 2 - Now, if the rumours are true and there is an additional camera, better speakers, larger battery, and a more efficient chip, could it be worth the wait?

Is waiting 6 months on a rumour for a phone that may suit my needs be worth it? Or just go for the 18 Pro now?

it’s time to upgrade my base 11 but i can’t decide if i should get the 17 pro or 18 pro.

money isn’t really an issue, but the 17 pro is quite a bit cheaper. i’ve also seen some reviews saying that the differences between the 17 pro and 18 pro aren’t really that big.

for those who have either one (or both), do you think the 18 pro is worth spending the extra money on? or would it make more sense to just get the 17 pro and save the extra cash?

have an iPhone 13 and I’m starting to wonder if it’s time for an upgrade. Late last year, it started lagging pretty badly, so I had the battery replaced at a local electronics shop. That helped a lot at first, but over the last month or two, I’ve noticed it lagging again, even when the battery is around 50%. It gets way worse in Low Power Mode; sometimes it just completely freezes for a few seconds and I have to force close apps.

Do you think this is a battery issue or is the phone just getting old? I’ve considered trying to get the battery replaced under warranty, but I’m not even sure if the battery is the actual culprit...

Also, if I do upgrade, is the iPhone 16 and below even worth getting right now? Should I wait a few months for prices to drop further after the iPhone 18 release? iPhones are just insanely expensive here in Europe...thanks!

I am just replacing my broken iPHone 15. For the past few months with that phone, I’ve noticed the dynamic island is nice but also not really necessary, but that I actually liked it. I want to be able to keep this phone for at least 5-7 years. I just am worried it would feel too outdated with a notch and 90hz. But before my 15, I had an Xr for 4 years and it was mainly the storage that made me want to upgrade. I was looking at the 15 pro also. The extras wouldn’t nice but I don’t need a nice camera setup as I have a dedicated mirrorless if I want “pro” photos, and the 120hz is nice but I don’t care that much. and USB 3 would be nice but none of my SD cards are fast enough. I don’t need any of the pro stuff and would rather a better battery and chip and not have the phone overheat. Is the 16e a good buy?
