Dance if you are the worst generals in the game because of better options :
🟢 General Messe: The Upgrading Trap
The Base Cost: 550 Medals (Bronze Tier). [1, 2]
The Cost Problem: While 550 medals is a great price for a starter general, upgrading him is a massive financial trap. To train him from Bronze to a Purple nameplate and max out his stars/skills, you have to spend thousands of medals and rare training materials (Swords/Sceptres of Dominance).
Why the cost is bad: For the exact same total medal investment it takes to max out Messe, you can buy Guderian (2,935 medals) or a discounted Rommel (around 1,671 medals). Guderian completely destroys a maxed-out Messe in damage output without even needing upgrades. Upgrading Messe is essentially paying a luxury price for a budget product.
🔵 General Dowding: The Overpriced Hybrid
The Base Cost: 1,341 Medals (with Domination discounts).
The Cost Problem: Dowding is a Silver general, meaning he is moderately expensive. However, his kit forces you to pay for two things at once: an economic general and an air general. [1]
Why the cost is bad:
If you want an Air General, Arnold costs 1,485 medals. For roughly the same price, Arnold gives you 6 stars in Air and comes with Rumor naturally. You do not have to spend extra medals trying to fix Arnold's skills.
Furthermore, the game later gives you top-tier Air Generals like Chennault for completely free via the Conquest Battle Pass. Paying over 1,300 medals for Dowding just to have an economy skill permanently blocking a crucial combat slot is an inefficient waste of medals.
🟥 General Williams: The Premium Waste of Money
The Base Cost: Real World Currency (In-App Purchase).
The Cost Problem: Williams is a Premium general. When you spend real cash on a premium general, you expect game-breaking power—like Manstein (Tanks) or Zhukov (Artillery), who can instantly clear map sectors.
Why the cost is bad: Williams requires real money just to buy, and then you still have to spend massive amounts of in-game medals or premium training materials to give him basic skills like Artillery Leaderor Accuracy.
Meanwhile, Konev is completely free (unlocked using in-game medals with a 40% discount putting him at 1,593 medals). Konev natively possesses the best offensive artillery skills in the game. Paying real money for Williams when a free-to-play general like Konev hits twice as hard makes Williams one of the worst value-for-money purchases in the entire game
