Shmup’s and Sony ceasing physical games?
I have a PS5 and while I do game digitally, for me this news isn’t so ideal.
For example, physical releases by M2 Shottriggers have been the only easy way I can access the game on PS5. I own every single one of their releases.
These do not appear on the PlayStation store in Australia and I believe Europe. I understand there are ways around it by buying gift cards and what not, and also involves creating a US or Japanese account etc.
So I have a few questions:
Does buying games on a foreign account and playing it on your normal account allow you to collect PS Trophies?
Can you even play on your normal account?
I know M2 are like this, but are there other Shmups like this, with the games not available digitally worldwide? Does buying games outside of your region run the risk of them blocking access?
What are the communities general thoughts on the decision? I know special editions can be popular and shmups generally don’t require updates as often as AAA games
