Small transmission case leak, has anyone successfully repaired something like this with JB Weld?
Hi everyone,
I have a small but persistent ATF leak coming from what looks like a crack in the transmission casing near the rear bolt area.
The leak appears to come directly from that point rather than from the transmission pan gasket. It is not spraying, but it is enough to create a noticeable drip over time.
Has anyone here experienced a leak from this area on a Montero transmission, or a similar aluminum transmission case?
I am considering trying a proper JB Weld
Do you think this is likely to hold, assuming it is only a very small crack and not a structural break? Is there a specific JB Weld product you would recommend for an aluminum transmission case exposed to ATF and heat?
