FSA and HSA Strategy
I have an HSA, but have to switch to a new insurance plan which provides an FSA.
I was paying out of pocket for medical expenses for the purpose of reimbursing from HSA many years down the line.
Now that I have an FSA, would it make more sense to now contribute to FSA and use those to pay for my current medical expenses? Or do I continue to pay out of pocket and reimburse from HSA in the future, at least until my out of pocket total expenses surpass my HSA balance?
Edit: I think better rephrasing of question is: which of these options is better?
- Contribute to FSA to pay for expected medical expenses or
- Don't contribute to FSA, pay out of pocket, then reimburse from HSA in retirement.
