Dolomites Trip Planning & Reservations for July

Hi everyone,

We are planning a trip to the Dolomites this coming July. Here is a list of our primary destinations:

Cortina d’Ampezzo, Rifugio Auronzo, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Cadini di Misurina, Lake Misurina, Lake Sorapis, Lago di Braies (Prags), Monte Specie, Ortisei, Seceda, Alpe di Siusi, Val di Funes (Santa Maddalena & the Adolf Munkel Trail), Lake Carezza, and Bolzano.

We’ve heard that there are many new restrictions, road closures, and heavy crowds this summer. We understand that for certain locations, it is essential to pre-book parking, transit permits, or even cable car tickets in advance to avoid being turned away.

We would greatly appreciate advice from those with recent experience:

  1. Advance Bookings: For which of these destinations is it mandatory (or highly recommended) to book parking or entry tickets online? (For instance, we’ve heard the road to Lago di Braies and the Tre Cime toll road have strict time-based restrictions).

  2. Official Sites: Do you have specific recommendations on where and how to book? We want to make sure we are using official platforms.

  3. Early Arrival: Which locations require an especially early arrival (before 8:00 AM) to secure a parking spot or avoid the peak crowds?

We would love to hear any tips and updates to ensure our trip goes smoothly.

Thanks a lot for your help!
