Offered a 1st Gen Hayabusa…
For context, I’ve never ridden a bike or anything similar, so I’m a total novice. However, I’ve been interested in getting into them and mentioned to my brother-in-law that I was thinking of buying my first one in a few months. We talked some and he told me that he owns an ‘04 Hayabusa, but had to leave it behind when he moved out of his home state several years ago. He explained that he hasn’t gotten around to shipping it and has been thinking about getting something new, then offered to give it to me on the condition that I first get a starter bike to get well-acquainted with riding.
I was originally looking at getting a Yamaha TW200, but now I feel like a 200cc bike that light wouldn’t be the best if I wanted to prepare for an eventual Busa. What would be a better option that I could get for $5k or less used? For now, I would mainly use it to ride around town to commute to work / run errands.
