A question regarding consent, in relation to raising children within the Baha'i Faith (or any religion)

Hi all, as the title would suggest I'm interested in exploring the topic of consent in regards to the belief system we raise our children within, be it the Baha'i Faith, another Faith, a specific political or philosophical approach to life or the music of Jon Bon Jovi.

For context I'm a Baha'i on the outs, raised in the faith in England alongside my two younger brothers by two disillusioned hippies who became Baha'is in the seventies.

Do folks think children should be raised to believe or to think critically?
I'd make a distinction between the two because I'm 45 and now that I realise I don't believe I'm struggling to be able to think critically. And it's tough. So tough. When passion's a prison, you can't break free.

Let me know what you think.
