No, an Opera X Forsaken collab isn't justified JUST because "oThEr bRoWsErS sTeAl yOuR dAtA tOO".
Just to be clear, I AM NOT DEFENDING GOOGLE CHROME OR ANY OTHER CHROMIUM BROWSER, I am simply calling out this whataboutism take popping up after the collab was revealed.
I KNOW that other browsers steal your data too, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THE OPERA COLLAB IS ANY BETTER, in fact, It makes it makes it WORSE because the owners already KNEW that Opera does all this shady shit, and THEY STILL GREENLIT THE COLLAB ANYWAYS, all for more profit which they already have lots of.
"Oh, but what about BBN and Medal?" I DON'T CARE, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT OPERA AND FORSAKEN HERE. "What about the customisation?" AGAIN, DON'T CARE, OPERA IS STILL A TERRIBLE BROWSER IF YOU WANT TO HAVE PRIVACY. (I use Firefox, a non-Chromium browser that, according to my research, doesn't sell your data to third parties).
All in all, I hate how some Forsaken fans are hell-bent on defending the collab, and I'm just confused that THIS is the hill they want to die on. I tried to warn ya'll about this on my previous post, BUT YOU ALL LAUGHED AT ME. WHO'S LAUGHING NOW, HUH?!
