Rant: tired of shallow/nonsensical responses in my posts about balancing

I know this happens basically everywhere, not just on the Forsaken community. Believe me, I been through that in many other contexts before. It's still very annoying to experience that though, especially considering how passionate I am at Forsaken and how much mental effort I've put into this game and my posts about it. It comes into a point where I start considering the possibility of some comments actually just being ragebait.

There were many different comments that annoyed me over the course of my posts over different accounts and platforms, but the worst one certainly is the "skill issue", because not only does it completely ignore the content of my claims, it also assumes something that most of the time isn't factually true. Even if I were to lack skill in a specific area, they don't actually engage in any argumentation or gaming advice; they don't say what I might be doing wrong, they just say I lack skill, as if there wasn't any context at all.

Don't mean to glaze myself (albeit I might, inevitably), but I'm not just a pro at Forsaken, I am THE pro at Forsaken. I make some sweats at the game look like noobs. There are even friends of mine who think I'm better than meatkill. I have a really good read at what's going on on a match most of the time. When somebody says "skill issue" so vaguely, it becomes bold considering I already have so much skill in this game that it usually becomes about numbers.

The "skill issue" becomes even more ironic when it's considering that I struggle in one role (survivor or killer) but that I make any player from the opposite role struggle in the exact same way.

When I write a post about Forsaken's balancing, I don't just write off my opinion, I try my best to be technical and objective about it; I use numbers, I lay off reliable strategies, I argue based on hundreds or thousands of rounds of experiencing the same thing. Yet people lack the expertise on Forsaken to realize how sophisticated my claims truly are, so they treat as if I was just talking off of my ass and "obviously wrong about it, never let bro cook again", and so not only do they leave a downvote, they don't even engage with the argument minimally. Again, I know this happens all over Reddit, but it doesn't stop being annoying.

I've had a person saying that stuns don't matter in a chase and there are other worries for the "meta", and another that dismissed my complaints about overtuned survivors because of "that one good player made you mad" (which is a claim they took from their own head), and another that said Forsaken devs are "adding weaknesses and strenghts to characters" as if it didn't matter that I was attempting to make a balancing claim. It's sad that people don't actually engage with my arguments, it doesn't matter that they, my arguments, have real depth to them.

Just got a Forsaken backpack off of Etsy and so happy for it!

I’m a huge fan of Two Time and Azure so that’s why I got this backpack. Now if you want it, I found it on Etsy. But will I be bullied for it?

My predictions for the Ringmaster and Stalker update (so far)

With the Forsaken news twitter account saying that progress on the update is around 7/10, I’d assume the update is around the corner.

So I’d like to give my predictions so far.

Ringmaster and Stalker will release (duh).

Stalker will get his milestones on release and they will make him G R E E N.

Ringmaster will also get his milestones on release.

Stalker is gonna release fairly balanced on the update but people are gonna say theyre OP and ask them to be nerfed which then makes them weak as shit.

Ringmaster is also gonna release fairly balanced on the update but people are gonna say hes OP and ask him to be nerfed which then makes him weak as shit.

We are getting the randomizer gamemode.

The Davie vs Generator 1337 LMS will be added.

Nosferatu will get his milestones after so long.

At least ONE skin that has been teased for a while (Like Madness Doe or Dignity) will come to the game.

007n7 will get his rework (Although this could be its own update as it was said it will be a full on rework with n7 getting new abilities and not just an overhaul like the recent Two Time rework)

Azure will be buffed and get some form of ESP reading.

And were gonna get 2137 complaints like always xd.

Edit: My dumbass put Azure instead of Ringmaster in the first prediction 😭

I'm afraid that when Soy G reworks 007n7, he'll do it badly like he did with other characters, and I'll tell you why by reviewing his track record with reworks.

This developer shouldn't even be on the team, or at least they should stick to testing or contribute occasionally. The rework they did on 1x is terrible. His skill set is horribly designed for a mid-to-long-range harassment assassin. This rework should have changed a lot of things about 1x, but this mediocre developer made such bad changes that now 1x is unbalanced, and to rebalance him, he needs a complete rework. But I won't go into too much detail about 1x.

The Guest 1337 rework is simply terrible. While it attempts to make Guest 1337 players less selfish, the rework fails because the damn generators have a fundamental problem: it's more beneficial to create generators than to help the team. Guest struggles to be a predictive or reactive ward; it still suffers from the same issues since, to achieve a stun, it has to perform a reactive block, which, in my opinion, shouldn't be the case.

The ability to passively gain interrupt abilities should be a core mechanic or, at the very least, have a different approach. The rework should have addressed this. For the average Guest player, the Sentinel works because it has two abilities that are easy to passively acquire and use "comfortably," but the block mechanic doesn't synergize with the other abilities, as it's a very punishing ability. Although the shield and stun provide a significant benefit, it's still not worth it for a casual player.

Furthermore, it's annoying for the killer because it's a Sentry that constantly pressures the team if the player insists on helping, since Guest is a passive and protective Sentry that disrupts. Its kit seems to be that of a common Sentry like Shedletsky. Guest 1337 is a nightmare for game balance due to Soy G

Nobody will make me like this developer; he does a terrible job at what he does. He's one of the few developers I genuinely think the game would be better without. I hate him, but only within the scope of his work in the game. What he does elsewhere is irrelevant to me.

Soooooo

Did Forsaken have a drama? Not asking for the sake of entertainment, kind of newish to Forsaken (though I play really well and know the lore) so I thought it would be good if I knew

1x1x1x1 Kit Remake Idea

I heard a lot of people hate 1x4's kit because of how much it relies of guessing and prediction. And that got me thinking. In general, ranged abilities require some kind of prediction to work, and a killer centered entirely around that will more than likely be unhealthy for the game in most cases.

And so I created a potential concept for a 1x4 kit redesign.

Here is the kit:

Walkspeed: 8

Runspeed: 27.5

-A lower terror radius would better fit this kit, since it is more stealth oriented.

M1: If this remake were implemented, 1x4 would not be as reliant and using ranged moves to kill survivors. Because of this, the M1 damage and speed could be buffed slightly. Possibly around 25 damage.

Ability 1 (Shift): This ability would replace Mass Infection. 1x4 is a fourth dimensional being right? Why not allow it to be reflected in his kit. This ability would allow 1x4 to shift his position in a 4th spatial dimension.

Effectively this would make him invisible (in some cases). Though to be fair to survivors, the invisibility would be different depending on how close he is to the nearest survivor. If he is up close, he would only receive invisibility III. At a medium distance, Invisibility IV. Any further would grant total invisibility. Has he gets closer or further to survivors, the invisibility levels would change in real time while "Shift" is active. If an M1 is used while in shift, it would instantly end the ability. No other abilities would work while in shift. If the m1 hits a survivor while 1x4 is coming out of shift, it would inflict Poison I and Glitched I for 5 seconds. (Of course, his glowing eye would be hidden during this ability for it to make sense)

Ability 2 (Entanglement): This this version of 1x4 does not rely as much on ranged moves, he does not need a free distance tool anymore. Entanglement would receive a massive nerf. When it hits survivors it would no longer pull them towards 1x4. Instead, if the survivor is far away, it would give them a brief/few seconds period of heavy slowness (like Slowness IV or something). If the survivor is close to 1x4 when it hits, they would only receive minor slowness (maybe Slowness II or Slowness I).

I would not nerf it any more than this, since 1x4 still needs some degree of anti-loop potential when in a chase. Stealth alone will not work on all players.

Ability 3 (Unstable Eye): Since this version of 1x4 is faster than the current in-game version, this ability would receive a minor nerf, granting Speed I instead of Speed II. Nothing else would change.

Ability 4 (Rejuvenate the Rotten): No changes.

Tell me what you think. Hopefully this killer design transforms him from a prediction gambler into an actual skill based killer. Is it good, horrible, mediocre, etc.? Just please be kind about it if your opinion is negative.

I FEEL THE STRONGEST ANTIPATHY FOR THIS MOTHER FUCKER THAT HAS TRANSCENDED ANY MALICE TOWARDS THIS MOTHERFUCKER EVER

The ONE small problem i have with Azure's milestones

Now don't get me wrong I enjoy these designs but they feel a bit too all over the place and not in a good way, they don't really feel like they follow a theme

I'm not saying this is a bad thing Milestones that don't follow a set theme can work but these just don't really do it for me

I could just be biased, but when I saw milestone I for the first time I thought these Milestones were going to be more visceral and body horror coded considering Azure is literally a rotting corpse in this skin, ans his bones and ribs are visible, and the Golem is seemingly being made out of the people that were cannibalized in the spawn Village. (or whatever it's called idk) but then Milestone II just doesn't keep the theme going the Golem is still cool and then there's just a sudden shift to reference the Azurewrath accessories in the last 2 milestones and it just kind of comes out of left field. It feels like they had a few ideas on what to theme the Milestones around, but couldn't pick between the three so they just picked their favorites from the batch and put them in the game

Once again I should clarify I do not hate these designs I just find them very all over the place and wish they stuck to a core theme

How it felt when I disabled my Killer for the first time ever

After 36 days, 1540 killer wins, and 10 popped blood vessels after getting overstimulated with all the sweaty survivors I have to micro manage, I have come to the most shocking and revolutionary conclusion ever...

That I don't like playing Killer anymore.

This is the first time I have ever touched the setting and I genuinely can not describe how revelating it was to not play as the "Power Role" for once and just focus on the survivor experience.

I think we need to like slow down a bit

My bumahh just realised that the tweet isn’t saying that the Yourself skins won’t get reworked AT all, but they’re saying that adding shi like bundles and packages (ie changing your body type) won’t be done.

It’s still very much possible that we’ll be getting better customisation since the leaked Roadmap (though it’s reliability is questionable since some smaller events were changed, it still got the main details right and was confirmed to be real) says that “custom yourself” is part of the Stalker update. So at the very least, it’s NOT out of the question.

I feel like this could have been one of the best collaborations, but the TBB team messed it up.

No, I'm not angry about being stuck in the game, since I play The Battle Cats regularly, but the point is that a new player, who has surely never played a game of this genre, won't understand it. Even worse, the game is somewhat "complex," and it's better to miss out on the skin than to complete all four chapters. I have very negative opinions about the game, but I prefer not to voice them.

I think the solution is simply to complete part of Chapter 1, and honestly, as a The Battle Cats player, I think it's a very bad game, and investing a lot of time in a skin that's so hard to get isn't worth it at all. Based on my theory, the TBB team did the collaboration reluctantly and made it very difficult to get the skin because they don't like Forsaken, but that's still just my theory. It's also the Forsaken team's fault for not having a standard when it comes to collaborations.

everything that pissed me off during the livestream qna

First of WHAT DO YOU MEAN POTENTIAL BUG ABUSE!!!???

HAVE WE NOT HEARD ABOUT SOUND CUES

15-20K FOR THE MOST SHITTEST SKIN EVER??

2nd-

im just disappointed

3rd-THEN WORK ON THEM????

IF U CAN REWORK SEVEN+ IN THE AZURE UPDATE WHY CANT U MAKE 1 SKIN ABOUT DELTARUNE??????

(theese just really pissed me off and i needed to let of my anger)

u/PapyrusZaSkeleton — 4 days ago

I genuinely think this whole "bug abuse" problem is just crap

yes, i know im not the only one who is pissed because of this.

The thing is its easy to solve, just add a setting to enable/disable head or torso accessories but for some reason they choose to make the yourself skins ass.

20k points for a skin without torso accesories and a chase theme its a scam (not even custom SFX🙏), not to mention that for some reason the t-shirts doesn't work in yourself skins for some reason.

Anyways here ends my rant, just delate them from the game if they are gonna stay like that forever🙏
