Does a Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire cartridge with a "B" revision imprint actually exist?

You might've heard the fact thrown around that the imprinted letter on Pokémon GBA cartridge sticker indicates the revision: A for v1.1, B for v1.2. But there appears to be zero photographic evidence of a B-imprinted cart anywhere on the internet.

After some digging, I think I've traced where this idea came from:

  • A Japanese site called Legendary Star Blob documented imprint letters for Gen 1 Game Boy cartridges
  • A user brought this to English-speaking communities via Glitch City forums
  • At some point, someone extrapolated the pattern to GBA games
  • That assumption has been copied or reinvented and repeated ever since

If that's true then the v1.2 cartridges also use the A imprint, and the B is a myth born from an assumption.

If anyone has actually held a B-imprinted Ruby or Sapphire in their hands, please put me out of my misery. Otherwise, it seems the only way to tell if a cartridge is v1.2 might be the internal chip layout, but I'm not certain that is 100% reliable.
