So i have this gba sp with a really weak speaker and decided to replace it but when i replaced it there was no sound, so i placed the old weak speaker again but again theres no sound.
I was just playing Pokemon Sapphire and the console made a glitchy sound and froze, it has done this before but I could just restart it and continue with what I was doing. Is it time to buy a new one? My mother bought this brand new back in 2003 it's the front lit version
Picked this copy of Pokemon Red up a little while ago in a bundle I bought online, and i failed to check it then. All the others worked a treat after a little TLC.
I Gave the contacts a clean with IPA, but it just black screens.
Is it done for? Or can it be somewhat easily salvaged?
Edit: I know im going to have to give it a bit more of a clean, but ive not seen a cart in this condition before.
Context: started my collection. The goal is to get every Gameboy, GBC & GBA games!
Beside the obvious Pokemon/zelda games, what is your top 5 games you recommend!
I gotta beat each game before placing it on the collection display!
So growing up i played the trading card game of Pokémon but I didnt really have any access to video games. So as an adult I have discovered emulation, everdrives, and all the fun new handhelds which led to also the modded old handhelds etc. I see so much love for the pokemon games but I honestly have no idea what the difference in them is. Pokemon red vs blue vs yellow vs green etc. Where is a good place to start? Also I have hooked my kids up with handhelds, they are 7 and 9, would the pokemon games be something fun for that age? Thanks!
I couldn’t be happier to have finally completed my collection of all my old Pokémon games!! I started collecting the main titles a few years ago, and I’m so glad I did when I did because the prices for most of these games are absolutely insane now! Pokémon Blue, which was my final addition, cost me $70!!
I didn't know exactly what the game was until I came home and my brother was telling me what the game was and told me how much it went for. This game can go from between $120 to $140, and I have to say that I got a steal out of that, cuz I just got it cuz it looked interesting and I said at some point I'll either pick up a DSi or I'll pick up a Game Boy Advance SP at some point, but the fact that I got it for that cheap is insane.
Got a Game Boy Pocket in red just like my parents bought me when was 10 (in 1999 😂), but upgraded with a Poco board.
Crazy to see how expensive some of this stuff is in 2026! This was 50 dollars in 1999, and the Game Boy color was 80. I remember going to Toys R Us only 9 months after Pokémon started airing on TV in the US, and the Game Boy Color was sold out because everyone was playing red/blue/yellow, so I opted to get the Game Boy pocket because I was impatient (still am at 37 😂).
I've replaced the C32 capacitor, the speaker, all of the buttons, the button membranes, and the shell. I also soldered in an audio amplifier mod, and alongside the capacitor upgrade the sound is absolutely incredible. OEM screen.
Thinking about fixing up a busted old GBA SP I have as my next project!
I have this gameboy advance board thing and everything looks good on it to me. No rust or anything like that, but it doesn't turn on. I'm at a loss at what to do. The only thing I've done is clean it with isopropyl alcohol. What should I do? Also if the picture aren't clear enough I can reply with more
Hi everyone! I’m looking for an estimate of the value of my Game Boy collection, with a view to potentially selling it in the futur to fund another project

My bf bought his best friends old gameboy and a couple games for my birthday some years ago, i got LG, FR and Emerald! I was so excited for Emerald, i heard its the best of the best:) but it didn’t work:( long story short, i have tried fixing it, and it works now!!! I’m sooo excited
Just wanted to share how happy I am, but if anyone knows some good tips or fun shit about the game I would love to hear:)) Not sure about the starter yet, i love all of them. Leaning towards Torchic because i think Blaziken is baddas. i have played all other generations, but this is my first time playing this generation. I have also ordered alpha sapphire, so super excited for that too.
A few days ago I asked advice about a Pokemon Ruby that did not worked (white screen) after doing all the cleaning, reflowing and other cleaning stuff.
Until now I tried to change the PCB following my first attempt with a Dragon Ball game and after trying the game worked again wich makes me think the PCB from Ruby was the faulty one all along.
What should I do with the game to test if I did things correctly? It does saves but...
I recently picked this up at a local game store and can’t figure out why this box is different style than everyone one I can’t find. The color is not listed on the bottom corner and instead the box side openings. I could be crazy, but I have looked for hours and can’t find a similar gameboy box
Just picked these 2 up for 90 bucks still not sure if it was a good deal or not but happy nonetheless
Pretty cool find!! It’s been at least 15 years. PSP battery is swollen, the games for it are missing. I also am missing a charger for the GBs. Wondering if they’ll turn on. 🥺
Had to repost cause my feet were showing 😂
