A Ranger Story In Three Parts
I’m on my third Ranger. The first one was a 2019 XLT in Hot Pepper Red. Some guy blew through a four way stop and hit the passenger door at around 40 MPH. My wife was in the passenger seat at the time but we both walked away with minor injuries. Unfortunately once the airbags deploy the insurance pretty much totals the vehicle. So we searched in NE Indiana and NW Ohio for a replacement. In later 2023 the inventory was pretty slim. We liked the Velocity Blue color and found a 2023 with the Splash package. We didn’t like the graphic stripes do the dealer removed them and we were happy. The 2023 did not have some of the bells and whistles that the 2919 had and over time we decided to start looking for a new Ranger with better equipment. A few weeks ago a local dealer had a 2026 Lariat with the 2.7l L and a sunroof, Ruby red metallic, black appearance. The dealer had added a lighted front Ford emblem that over time I have grown to really like. I must confess I haven’t had new truck fever this bad in a long time. It knows no logic. Long story short , we are loving the features of the 2026 Lariat and especially the kick of the twin turbo 2.7.
