Anyone else get acid reflux two weeks before their period?

Would love to know if anyone else suffers from this and what you’ve found that helps. I currently take Allegra 24h and Pepcid (40mg) for the two weeks leading up to my period but nothing seems to help the acid is relentless!

Update on Lola

Hi all, firstly thank you all for being so supportive and kind in your words and advice on my previous post. I wanted to share an update on Lola. For those who are seeing this post first, she was diagnosed a couple days ago with an enlarged heart and was suffering from breathing difficulties. Last night, she was struggling a lot to breathe and after giving her a dose of an inhaler as recommended by the vet, her coughing kept getting progressively worse.

We took her to the ER and they put her in a little oxygen box which helped and ran some tests on her heart this morning. Luckily, her heart is in stable condition, she is in stage b1 heart disease. The bad news is that her trachea is very collapsed and the position of the collapse is low and is being further compressed by her enlarged heart.

We’ve been aware of minor tracheal collapse for some time and have taken all the precautions such as humidifiers, being cautious with running AC/fans, not over stressing her when it can be avoided, but unfortunately, this episode of collapse is just a bad one.

They’re keeping her in the hospital for another night and will try to wean her from the extra oxygen slowly and hopefully I’ll be able to bring her home tomorrow.

It’s such a terrible disease because so little can be done and it’s so gut-wrenching to see my girl struggle for air.

Again thank you all for the support and kind words. Lola thanks you 🫶

Enlarged heart 💔

My 11 year old girl Lola has an enlarged heart that is affecting her breathing. I’ve known about it for many years but the vets said it wasn’t anything to be concerned about at the time due to it being enlarged only a little. I took her to the vet yesterday for her 6 month check up and due to her more recent labored breathing we did x-rays that showed her heart is significantly larger. I have an appointment with the cardiologist next week but I’m so worried about her.

She’s always been a stubborn walker since she was a baby, protesting as soon as we get out the door but she’s always enjoyed it once we get past the initial huffs and puffs but I feel immensely guilty for making her walk recently. I should’ve paid more attention to her breathing and feel like a terrible dog mom.

Has anyone had experience with an enlarged heart before? It’s hard to know what stage she’s in without having seen the cardiologist yet and I know that’s an important piece for prognosis but I’d love to know what others have experienced/whY tips or advice you have for this. Thank you so much

Experiences on IUD for those who suffer with brutal ovulation/luteal phase symptoms?

I came off the pill a year ago and since have had terrible mood swings, cramping and fatigue during my ovulation and luteal phases which then carry through into PMS and I don’t feel much relief until my period is done. I was on the pill for many years and didn’t have any of these symptoms (no ovulation) but I don’t like the systemic effects and possible long-term side effects. I’m thinking of going on Skyla now that I’ve been off hormonal BC for a year but want to know if any of you ladies who suffer as I do in the ovulation/luteal phases had relief? I am extremely sensitive to hormonal shifts which is why I’m thinking of the lowest dose IUD as opposed to something like Mirena which is higher in hormones.

Did Skyla IUD help ovulation/PMS symptoms?

I came off the pill a year ago and since have had terrible mood swings, cramping and fatigue during my ovulation window which then carry through into PMS and I don’t feel much relief until my period is done. I’m thinking of going on Skyla now that I’ve been off hormonal BC for a year but want to know if any of you ladies who suffer as I do in the ovulation/luteal phases had relief?
