New calculator website, 2 months old.. just wondering what is the best way to show it without adding extra expense. Right now there is no monetization in place. Thanks for your input! I do use Pinterest.. what else can I do?

I launched a brand-new finance website a couple of months ago with original calculators and educational blog content. I’m focusing on creating useful content rather than chasing shortcuts, but I’m realizing backlinks are probably the biggest gap in my SEO strategy.

For those of you who have grown a new site recently:

• What backlink strategies actually moved the needle?
• Which methods are worth the time, and which are mostly a waste?
• Did you focus on guest posts, HARO/Connectively alternatives, digital PR, niche edits, Reddit/community engagement, directories, or something else?
• At what point did you start actively building backlinks versus waiting for them to come naturally?

I’m not looking for black-hat tactics or buying links—just trying to understand what has genuinely worked for people over the past year.

I’d really appreciate hearing real-world experiences, even if the answer is “just keep publishing great content.”
