Pregnant and Upcoming Mass Layoff

Location: Los Angeles, CA. I’m the earner in my marriage and 11 weeks pregnant. I work where there are mass layoffs constantly (basically everywhere in the USA right now) and there is one next week. I’m very concerned and would greatly appreciate guidance on how to protect myself in the worst case scenario. I have savings but it’s modest and would only last a few months in Los Angeles. My husband and I don’t have family money so we would really need to get creative without my job and health insurance. My husband is a creative and doesn’t make enough to support us both and baby, plus no health insurance.

Knowing the current layoff culture in tech, I’ve documented when I told my boss and have that in writing. HR was also made aware last week due to an unrelated family planning benefit I’m awaiting payment on. That conversation is documented in my original case to them.

What else can I do and how realistic is it that I could negotiate severance with an employment attorney?

Thank you again. It’s so hard being a working woman trying to start a family in this economy/country. I waited so long to start a family and this is precisely why.

Looking for a good high tea spot in greater Sarasota area. Heard St Regis is ok, but in the hotel lobby? Not a fan of that for the price! Any other good spots? Any price range welcome
