Space combat with three "sides"

So I haven't run a space combat yet but I have an idea where it could happen and depending on how the PCs play their cards this could be a Mexican Standoff. Three separate ships, each hostile to the other.

Problem is, the abstracted nature of relative distance and vectors in the rules, while nicely streamlined, seem difficult to apply in this case.

For example, the range band between the PCs ship and both antagonist 1 and antagonist 2 are each separate variables, plus the range band between antagonist 1 and 2.

How do you track that?

How do you plot it out?

Is there an equation that helps constrain the differences between each of the variables?

I'm not a math guy!?

My head's gonna explode here!

Advanced Combat Rifle

I've often thought about this iconic Traveller weapon and wondered, what makes it "Advanced"? It has always been billed as basically the last slug thrower before the rise of gauss weapons, but what is this final form? The description always seems to fall flat for me.

Firstly, I think once TL9-10 comes along, slug throwers don't use traditional chemical propellants. They become compact light gas guns that use hydrogen or helium compressed with an electro magnetic piston. Caseless ammunition.

Exhaust gasses are efficiently and algorithmically ported to compensate for orientation to target. Integrated optics.

But that's as far as my imagination (and military engineering knowledge) can take me. So I ask you, oh gearheads of this sub, what is your ACR?

Another history question: Aslan

This is for the various resident Traveller historians out there...

What were the Aslan doing during the early Imperium? How far did the Heirate extend in the years leading up to the Aslan Border Wars?

What was their relative tech level in the first few hundred years of the Third Imperium?

All I've got to go on is the entries in the Traveller Wiki, which are thin...

IYTU where do psionics come from?

For those that have psionics in your Traveller universe I'm curious how you explain the phenomenon. I have my own ideas, but this community always expands my mind...

Here's a question for all the lore nerds out there. As I've mentioned in other posts, I'm prepping a campaign set during the Illelish Pacification Campaign.

The thing I'm wondering is what the furthest extent of 3I jurisdiction would be in this era. In milieu 0 it seems like the furthest Rimward extent of the Imperium was just one sector out, through Illelish-Zarushagar-Massilia-Delphi. In 100 years would they have gotten any further? I'm assuming expansion Rimward would be a priority in the early Imperium so as to recontact and absorb the Solomani.

The overall paradigm of the Pacification Campaigns is this idea that Emperors Cleon and Artemsus initially expanded the Imperium's borders aggressively, often going around pocket empires rather than trying to integrate them right away, necessitating the Campaigns to consolidate gains and remove rival power centres.

So how far did the Imperium get before this phase?
