i20 N Line as an upgrade from 10-year-old WagonR CNG - worth it?

Using ai to polish

One of my cousins recently bought a used i20 N Line for around ₹9L. It had only around 35k km on the odo, petrol AMT, sunroof and all.

I drove it and honestly liked it a lot. The exhaust note especially It feels much more fun than my current car.

My family has a 2016 WagonR CNG, which is now almost 10 years old, so we're anyway planning to upgrade it.

I'm 27 and earn around ₹80k/month. I have around ₹4L ready for the down payment, and if we exchange the WagonR, I'm expecting around ₹2-2.5L for it.

So effectively I can put around 6-6.5L towards the new car.

I'm seriously considering the i20 N Line as an upgrade from the WagonR CNG. I know running costs will be higher, but after using the WagonR for 10 years I want something more comfortable, powerful and enjoyable to drive.

My main confusion is whether I should buy a new N Line or look at some other option.

Also, which engine/transmission would you guys recommend? I was initially thinking diesel for better running costs, but I really like the N Line's turbo petrol and exhaust note.

For people who have upgraded from a basic hatchback to an N Line - was it worth it?

And financially, does this upgrade make sense with an ₹80k salary and ~6L down payment?
