Looking for an actual carrier (not a broker) for 2 cars

Hey all. I did some searching and I know this question comes up a lot, but most of what I found was a few years old, so I figured I'd ask fresh.

I'm moving from LA to Austin in a few weeks to start a two-year MBA, and I need to get two cars out there: a 2015 Toyota Prius C and a 2018 Honda Fit. Both run and drive fine. Route is 90260 (LA area) to 78701 (downtown Austin), about 1,387 miles.

I'd really rather work with a carrier that owns its own trucks than a broker. No knock on brokers, I just want to talk to whoever's actually hauling my cars and keep it simple.

A few details to make it easy to answer:

  • Open transport is totally fine, nothing fancy
  • Door-to-door preferred, but I'm flexible if meeting nearby is easier for the driver
  • Timing: my lease starts August 1st and I'm flying in that day, so anytime around late July to early August works. I've got about six weeks of flexibility from now
  • Not just chasing the lowest number, I'd rather pay fairly for someone reliable

If you run your own equipment on the LA to Texas lane, I'd love to hear from you. And if you know a solid carrier even if it's not you, I'll happily take the recommendation. Thanks a lot, appreciate any help.
