Are my symptoms Mirena, or am I just looking for a solution to an unrelated problem?
24f, migraines with aura so I’ve tried every progesterone only birth control option possible, mirena is my last attempt at birth control working for me.
I got it placed in January after not being on birth control for about 3 years, it is now July. Since then I’ve had:
- two yeast infections (never had one before mirena)
- currently have a uti (never had one of these before either)
- I already got a lot of migraines and honestly those have subsided but been replaced by very manageable painfully dull headaches that don’t really go away for a few days
- symptoms of IBS that have never ever been present in my life before
- gained 15 pounds but I have no appetite. Like… EVER. I force myself to eat one meal a day and it’s difficult and I’m frequently getting sick because of a lack of nutrients but I keep gaining weight
- no libido and if I manage to talk myself into one miss girl downstairs offers me nothing but cobwebs, dust bunnies and a side of friction.
Do I need to go to the doctor for a serious issue or do I just need my mirena taken out?
p.s.- I’ve talked to my doctor, like many of you she swears it’s “unrelated” and my iud is “not the cause”. But I want to know what you guys think and if you guys have experienced these things.
