I’m meeting with my recruiter soon and I want to be prepared to tell him what jobs I want as an enlisted Airman.

My end goal after the military is 1811 (specifically DSS), so I was wondering if job selection matters all that much in the military when considering 1811 or not.

I heard that some of the intelligence roles are just being locked in a windowless room all day (not 100% how true that is). So does it matter whether I choose a more utility job like aircrew operations vs intelligence/cyber?

I’m taking a gap year after highschool to enroll in an immersion school in another country for a few months to learn a foreign language. And then after that I plan to take a few STEM classes at my community college.

Here’s what I have already
-1480 SAT
-4.07 weighted GPA
-Can pass physical standards
-~55 college/AP credits

So I was just wondering if anyone had any experience in usafa accepting applicants who took a year off after highschool and didn’t just do prep school.

I’m going to start nursing school in January 2027, and I’m wondering if becoming a CNA right now would give me a leg up in getting into an ICU as a graduate.

Right now I’m a server so I would be taking a pay cut but if it’s a better choice for my career I would definitely do it.
