How are you all getting GLP 1 pills affordably?

Part of being a bitch with taste is unfortunately feeling good physically. I have a medical condition that has made me fluctuate in weight a few times throughout my life and I’m way higher in weight than I used to be working in big law - don’t feel good going to work or even wearing my clothes. Really want to feel like myself again.

Would love any thoughts or recs - thank you!

First year scared of mid year review - what to expect?

At a large big law firm in NYC without a billable target. Have had some unfortunate experiences with people on my team where I feel like they expected too much of a first year - but sure they just think I’m incompetent (per their yelling at me in the past).

What can I expect? Kind of terrified. Get in everything on time and responsive. But have accidentally sent the wrong thing internally etc before especially while slammed/half read an email and been called sloppy. I’ve gotten better the last month or two (this situation was a wake up call) but they had reviews come in earlier than that. Thanks. Hours all over the place - some 200+ months, other 100 hour months.

Is your swearing in actually significant enough where you should go in person?

Would have to travel 2.5 hours to get to the courthouse in Albany and debating a remote option. On the other hand, am the first to be attorney in my family’s history. Thoughts?

Is the M&A grind v exits worth it?

Contemplating a switch to M&A because it seems more interesting. But at the same time, realize I could burn out quicker due to the unpredictability and that many of the exits have a huge income drop off (even relative to other groups like funds). Thoughts?

M&A Associates - do you regret it? Would you have picked another practice area looking back?

I have to decide my group. Find the substance of M&A interesting but a M&A midlevel told me to pick literally anything else due to the fact you get paid the same with far worse work life balance.

I’m torn - I don’t see myself finding anything as interesting (especially exit wise) but also can’t envision myself losing all my weekends and seeing coworkers enjoy theirs and not feeling a bit annoyed. Any thoughts/has anyone been in this situation? Part of me is thinking to bear it and just exit as needed, but would’ve been happy to stay in big law longer if I found a group that was a good fit. Unfortunate.

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks.
