Hi everyone,

I need urgent advice.

I was lured into a private video call, and the other person secretly recorded the video. They are now blackmailing me for money and threatening to send the video to my Instagram followers. They recorded my followers list before I deactivated my Instagram account.

I have already filed a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Portal and am going to the police. Unfortunately, the blackmailer is demanding more money and has given me a deadline of 10:00 AM, threatening to leak the video if I don't pay.

Many of my Instagram followers are professional contacts, so I'm extremely worried about my reputation.

Has anyone dealt with a similar sextortion case in India?

- Is there anything I can do immediately to prevent the video from being circulated?

- Has anyone had success after filing a cybercrime complaint?

- Should I respond to the blackmailer at all, or stop all communication?

I'm not looking for legal judgments, just practical advice from anyone who has experienced something similar or works in cybersecurity or law enforcement.
