[PAID] 2D Environment Artist, Character Artist, and Animator for story driven comedy game

Project

I’m currently solo developing a 2D comedic adventure game full time and am looking for artists to help visually shape the world and characters. The main gameplay systems have been coded, the narrative has been storyboarded, and I now have enough of the script written to begin replacing placeholder art with professional work. This is paid contract/freelance work, but I’m open to discussing partnership for the right artist(s) if the project resonates with you.

Roles

Previous experience with comedy games is a huge plus but not a necessity. While I have a rough idea of how the game should look stylistically, I’m very open in this area – I’d love for artists to come into the project and really make it their own while still being collaborative. I’m looking for people who are comfortable doing video calls once or twice a week to discuss progress, direction, ideas, feedback, etc. There will also be a paid trial period at the start so we can make sure we’re a good fit creatively and communication-wise before committing to longer-term work. I’m open to both hourly or per-asset pricing.

  1. 2D Environment Artist
    • The game’s setting is very metropolitan so experience with similar environments is a plus. Think bustling streets, cramped apartments, public parks, restaurants, and general city grime.
  2. 2D Character Designer
    • I’m looking for expressive, memorable designs that can visually sell personality and comedy.
  3. 2D Animator
    • Expressive character animations with strong personality and comedic timing will be the bulk of the work here.
