My biggest day yet

Was up around $1.5k for the month, then made $12.7k today from two trades.

By far my biggest day ever and honestly it’s completely thrown me off. I know this isn’t normal and I can’t expect days like this often, but now going back to making $500 is going to feel like nothing.

How do you go back to trading normally after a day like this?

How do you know when you’ve found your strategy?

I feel like I'm always wondering if I could be doing better with a different strategy.

Even when I'm having a good month, I see someone trading something completely different and start thinking maybe I'd be making more if I did the same.

At what point do you just stick with something that's working instead of constantly looking for something better?

Is there even such a thing as the "right" strategy, or if you're consistently making money should you just leave it alone?

When does trading stop feeling like a side hustle?

Last month was pretty decent and this month's started well too. Nothing crazy, but it's the first time I've looked at my journal and felt like there's actually something to build on instead of starting over every month.

The thing is, I still don't trust it.

I've had plenty of setbacks over the last couple of years, blown more evals than I care to admit, and every time things start going well there's a part of me waiting for it to fall apart again.

So I'm not changing anything. Same risk, same setups, same routine. Just trying to keep stacking good decisions and see where it ends up.

For the people who've been doing this a lot longer, when did trading stop feeling like a side hustle and start feeling like something you could actually rely on?

how do you mentally recover after a bad trading day?

Yesterday was probably the first time in months where I completely lost control.

Took a loss, convinced myself the next trade would make it back, then did it again. Before I knew it I'd completely abandoned the plan I'd been following all month.

The frustrating part is if you'd asked me yesterday morning whether I'd ever do that again, I would've said no without even thinking.

Now I'm just annoyed at myself because one bad session has taken attention away from what had actually been a pretty solid month.

How do you guys deal with days like this?

Do you just accept it, review it and move on, or do you take a few days off before trading again?

Is trading actually worth it?

This has probably been my best month so far, and I'm finally starting to get payouts after what feels like forever.

The weird part is I still don't really trust it.

I've had months where I felt like I was making progress, then gave it all back. I've blown evals, restarted more times than I can count, and spent way more time staring at charts than I'd ever admit to anyone outside trading.

Now things are finally moving in the right direction, but I still can't shake the feeling that next month could be the month it all falls apart.

Does that ever change?

Or is that just part of trading, no matter how long you've been doing it?

when did you know it was time to size up?

I've been trading smaller size for a while and have been pretty consistent recently.

The part I'm struggling with now isn't the strategy, it's knowing when it's actually time to increase size instead of just staying where I'm comfortable.

I know everyone says to size up slowly, but how did you know you were actually ready?

Was it a certain number of months? A P&L target? Or did you just eventually pull the trigger?
