Final Tune-Up Before a Local cEDH Tournament

Final Tune-Up Before a Local cEDH Tournament

Taking this Cecil Harvey // Krark, the Thumbless list to a local cEDH tournament in a couple of weeks and wanted to get some fresh eyes on it before I lock it in.

I’ve been goldfishing it a ton and it’s felt really solid, but I’m sure there are things I could be overlooking.

Mostly looking for:

  • Any cards that seem out of place
  • Any obvious includes I’m missing
  • Flex slots you’d change for a blind tournament meta
  • Any lines or interactions I should be aware of

Not looking to power it down—this is meant to be as competitive as possible.

Thanks in advance. Tear it apart if you think something can be improved.

Kefka Turbo Storm - Is turbo the right direction, or should I move toward midrange?

I’ve been brewing Kefka, Court Mage as a cEDH deck, and I’m trying to figure out whether I’m forcing a turbo shell onto a commander that would be better as a midrange value engine.

Current list is basically turbo:

  • Oracle + Consultation/Pact
  • Underworld Breach + Brain Freeze
  • Ad Nauseam
  • Heavy fast mana and rituals
  • Protection package (FoW, FoN, Fierce, Pact, Misstep, Swat, etc.)

The idea was to race the table, but after goldfishing and a few games, I’m wondering if Kefka actually rewards slowing down a bit. It feels like there may be more value in leveraging the commander over multiple turns instead of trying to be another Grixis turbo deck.

Some things I’m wondering:

  • Does Kefka actually want to be turbo, or is midrange where the commander shines?
  • Am I playing enough card advantage to justify the turbo plan?
  • Are there cards that seem out of place or like traps?
  • If you would pivot this toward midrange, what would be your first cuts and additions?
  • Does this just end up being a worse RogSi if I stay all-in on turbo?

Deck evaluation and help for Ikra Rog Cedh

I’ve been tuning Rograkh/Ikra for the current post-Dockside cEDH meta and wanted some outside opinions before I lock the list in.

The deck is primarily a Turbo Broodlord shell with Ad Nauseam/Necro backup rather than a traditional Turbo Naus list.

Primary win lines:

  • Hoarding Broodlord piles
  • Chain of Smog + Witherbloom Apprentice
  • Underworld Breach lines
  • Dualcaster Mage + Molten/Flare of Duplication

Notable packages:

  • Chthonian Nightmare
  • Necropotence / Necrodominance
  • Saw in Half + Broodlord
  • LED + Breach
  • Heavy ritual package (Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, Culling the Weak, Burnt Offering, Infernal Plunge, Rain of Filth, etc.)

Current list: https://moxfield.com/decks/rC5uyG80hES7BReyHRmoEA

A few questions:

  1. Are there any obvious omissions for a current Rog/Ikra Turbo Broodlord list?
  2. Is there anything in the list that looks outdated or below rate for today’s meta?
  3. How do you feel about the Dualcaster package in Rog/Ikra currently?
  4. Would you be running Delighted Halfling in this shell, and if so, what would you cut?
  5. For players actively on Rog/Ikra, are you finding yourself tutoring for Broodlord more often than Ad Nauseam?

My local meta is mostly Blue Farm, RogSi, Kinnan, Sisay, and Tivit.

I’m especially interested in feedback from people who have recent tournament reps with Rog/Ikra rather than goldfishing.

Thanks!

Jeska / Tymna Deck Theory Help

I’ve been brewing a TEDH Mardu list around Cecil Harvey and Jeska, Thrice Reborn that’s focused on turbo combat, treasures, and attack triggers instead of the standard turbo Naus/Breach shell. The idea is to pressure the table early with aggressive mana development and combat-oriented value pieces like Professional Face-Breaker, Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, Generous Plunderer, and extra combat effects from Karlach, Fury of Avernus and Combat Celebrant. Instead of sitting back sculpting a combo hand, I want the deck constantly generating mana and advantage through combat while still threatening explosive wins.

Right now I’m trying to refine the balance between combat pressure and compact infinite lines. I moved away from fragile graveyard loops like Worldgorger because I want combos that naturally fit the treasure/combat plan and don’t feel dead outside the combo. I’m currently looking at things like Aggravated Assault lines, sacrifice synergies, and using Mayhem Devil as a payoff. I’d appreciate feedback from people who’ve built combat-focused TEDH or treasure-based Mardu lists before, especially on tightening the combo package, improving resilience, and cutting cards that are too cute for tournament play.
