Hi, first post ever but I am looking at buying a 2020 Toyota C-HR XLE FWD CVT with 68k miles and the reason I steered away from some other cars was that I heard CVT transmissions have a high fail rate and are extremely expensive to fix. I was wondering if anyone who has one or knows more than I do knows if this car will last me years or fail before then. I cannot afford to fix a broken transmission in a year or two or a new car for that matter.

I haven’t purchased it yet but I have put a deposit to hold it for a week so please let me know before 7/10/26 please. I will go to another dealer if the CVT issue is really that big. Or any other big problems with this model and year of CHR.
