Possible to get fired from agency "out of nowhere?"
I know someone who worked at a city agency as an attorney. Not sure how long they worked there for, but definitely more than two years (which I believe means they wouldn't be probationary?) They were fired earlier this year for "performance issues" and they said it basically came out of nowhere. Like they could tell they were struggling a bit but didn't have a formal conversation with their boss about poor performance and wasn't put on a performance plan.
I feel like I might not be getting the full story from them because it seems like this shouldn't be possible (unless they were still probationary). Just based on searching through posts on this forum.
