MAGA Dean - How Does it Affect Me?

This is a follow-up to a prior post of mine. I put in at FIU and am starting to regret my decision. As predicted they appointed a MAGA Dean named Dan Epstein. He was Trump’s lawyer during the first term. I can live with that, but his letter to the search committee indicated he would only seek to hire similar conservatives and recruit students from conservative schools. Apparently he didn’t get support to be interviewed to be dean, but was appointed by the MAGA president.

I’m wondering if this will devalue my degree if I attend. The school had a good reputation, but I’m worried it’s slowly being tarnished.

Public Florida Law Schools & MAGA

I have been circling around forums as I am considering attending law school, specifically in Florida as that’s where I live and want to practice. Public law schools are cheaper here than their counterparts by a wide margin, but I’m concerned about the MAGA enshitification of Florida public universities in general and what it means for my legal education.

All four of Florida’s public law schools are without deans. Their dean searches have either failed or are taking an inordinate amount of time, which is quite unusual. I suspect DeSantis and/or his recent university president shills are looking to appoint MAGAs to those positions and I’m wondering how you think that will affect my career prospects if that does happen and I graduate from one of them.

For the record, I’m not a bleeding heart liberal, and actually a little more on the conservative side, but definitely not MAGA. Also, if UM or Stetson give me enough money, I’ll probably go there to avoid this whole concern, but I’m assuming I won’t get it for planning purposes.
