Saudade do povo trevoso

What to do? Tricked Guardian

I want to share my story with you and ask for suggestions.

We already played a 6 months adventure. We are friends, they come to my house every weekend. We just started a new adventure. We are 6 players.

Now I play as a Clank Guardian (Stalwart). In our second session we found a stone tomb that only I could open. Only two other characters wanted me to open it (they couldn't do it by themselves): the Bard and the Rogue. Before doing it, I told them whatever I would find there would be mine and they agreed. My Clank was made to work in a shop of rare goods, my Community is Highborne and I like to sell stuff. I found two pieces of parchment inside: a minor health potion recipe and a map of the dungeon we were in. I told them whoever wanted to buy the recipe, it would cost two handfuls of gold and the map one handful. My intention was to bargain or something. It wasn't even expensive, only a symbolic price.

No one wanted to pay for it, but the Faerie Druid tried to reason with me and told me we could use the map, then I would be able to keep it and sell to someone else when we leave the dungeon. I was about to accept it. I (player) just wanted any kind of negotiation. But the Bard told the GM she was going to cast Enrapture on me to then use her Wordsmith - Heart of a Poet and try to persuade me to give her the map. While I was Enraptured, the Rogue stole both items from me.

I (player) am particularly against players using their abilities on each other unless it's really necessary, but I'm not the GM here. And I found myself on a situation in which I don't know what to do. In this case in particular, my character knew he was cheated and simply told the party he wasn't going to proceed on an adventure with those people. But the Seraph paid me in order to appease the situation. He is a gentleman and he even asked me how I feel when people refer to me by anything related to machines but my name.

However, in general, I will never tell the party if I find anything anymore.

As a Guardian I don't have funny gimmicks to use against them unless I decide to hit them, in which case I may even lose. The least I'm gonna do is to never be a Guardian for them. I mean, who does that in the beginning of an adventure? Steal another player in their face! To trick a party member you didn't even build a relationship yet.

I'm a Guardian and ironically I don't know how to protect myself! Especially from spells and for simply being robbed by my "teammates". Do you have tips? And what do you think about the whole situation? Am I the toxic one? Are they?

BTW, the Bard found a special dagger in the next scene and the Rogue stole it from her too. Now they don't trust each other too.
