CTB Eligibility Question (20 hours a week) (Self-arranged)

Hello,

I have a quick question regarding eligibility for CTB. Currently, I am taking 7 quarter units and during my CTB interview, I was told that I must be taking 12 quarter units to qualify for benefits. I decided to withdraw my application until the fall when I will be taking 12 units per quarter, because I was told I wouldn't be able to reapply for a year if I was denied CTB.

However, I later learned that the CTB eligibility criteria states that "my training is full-time (usually at least 20 hours a week or 12 units per quarter or semester)."

My university recognizes 1 unit = 3 hours of work per week, therefore my 7 units = 21 hours of work per week. Does this make me eligible to receive benefits or am I misinterpreting the statement?

Thank you.

Please (constructively) criticize my resume

Since my last post received a lot of very insightful comments, I decided to tweak my resume to emphasize some of the qualities you all thought are crucial/appreciable for engineers to possess. Please let me know what you think of my resume and work experience. So far, I have only received rejections from internship applications.

What non-engineering skills do you appreciate seeing from engineers?

Hello everyone,

I am currently pursuing a master's in civil engineering with an emphasis in water resources. I am trying to break into the engineering field after working a few jobs and graduating with a physics BS.

I am looking at this opportunity as a way to acquire new skills and refine my current skills. Graduating with a physics degree, I believe I have a strong foundation in understanding concepts and having strong analytical and pattern recognition skills. However, I wanted to get a better understanding of what skills you would appreciate seeing from a new employee.

The one that stands out the most is communication, which I have been working to improve. But are there any others that may be crucial to everyday work or could be the reason that employee receives a promotion?

Thank you.
