On May 15th, 2001, Cannibal Ox released their debut LP, 'The Cold Vein' under the recently founded Definitive Jux records, which was also the first full-length album & non-EP to be released under the label's name. The entire album was produced by Definitive Jux founder El-P, who was also a former member of the group Company Flow & collective Weathermen.

Goblin is the major label debut album by Odd Future leader Tyler, The Creator, on May 10th, 2011 under XL Records. This LP comes after the positively received album (or mixtape) Bastard, which was released on Christmas day 2009. Sandwitches was the first single released for the album, which was put out in late 2010 for free on the Odd Future website. However, it was the February 2011 single Yonkers that elevated this LA based artist into a different stratosphere - mainly with its eye-catching music video & off-the-wall lyrics. Though most of Odd Future appeared on the LP, the most notable absence was that of Earl Sweatshirt, who was in Samoa attending Coral Reef Academy during the album's recording/production.
