Recommendation after listening to the Oasis discussion
Just on the topic of wether an actor with cerebral palsy could act in a film, I was reminded of this Finnish film called The Blind man who did not wan't to see Titanic, where the main character suffers from multiple sclerosis. The real life actor playing the character, Petri Poikolainen, actually suffers from multiple sclerosis.
The filming was quite difficult. Poikolainen said that he suffered a lot of physical pain due to filming so they had to shoot it very fast: only five shooting days and very short shooting time, about 6 hours.
Anyhow, bit of a rambling post, but I definitely recommend the film!
Ps. multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy are different diseases with some overlap in the symptoms I believe, but I am no expert. So if someone is educated on the issue, feel free to flame me.
