My Current Situation:

Hi! I'm 28 years old, female, and living in the Philippines. I've been an online ESL teacher for over 5 years now and I've had an experience being an customer representative for 6 months.

My nationality is German/Filipino, so my dad always tries to convince me to work in Germany. I have a German passport and I graduated in an international school. I majored in Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management.

I did try to learn German before in a German school, but after I reached A2 until B2, I realized that learning this language may not be for me.

My dad always compares me to himself. He always says that at my age he was already traveling to other countries, he was paying for his car, renting an apartment, and a lot more. He also keeps on telling me that I don't have money to go out of the country and travel. He pays for his plane tickets going to the Philippines including the food and such. He is also willing to pay for my flight ticket going to Germany or other countries with him in the future. And yes, he did pay for some of my furnitures, gadgets, and other appliances. But I did not solely depend on him. Some of them are for Christmas, my birthday, and the rest are coming from him offering it to me.

He doesn't like my current job because it's not sustainable. It's also just a freelancing job for him. He always like to compare Germany in terms of healthcare, insurance, the pension, and the rest. He keeps on telling me that I went to an international school and my occupation should be related to my job. But in reality, I don't want to work in the hospitality industry anymore. He honestly wants me to work in the hotel with a managerial position. That's not something that I would even like to have.

My dad told me that I can even work in Australia, the U.K., and such. I like staying in the Philippines. Although, I'm also scared for my future, especially once I retire.

But of course, besides working in ang of those countries, my dad said that I can suppprt my mom who is in her sixties and a housewife. Probably 20-30K in pesos per month.

To be honest, I don't need to own a car. I don't plan to have a family, especially in this economy. I just want to earn money for my future house, but no rush. I like staying at my rented apartment. I don't like traveling. I just like cleaning at home, cooking, and working from home. And I feel guilty because at this age, I'm supposed to have much more stable career path, savings, and a lot more.

At the same time, I'm also actively seeking another part-time job online. The ESL industry is quite tough now even despite my wide experience. I've also tried applying to other companies, but no luck.

I feel like I'm not ambitious and I'm lazy. My boyfriend recently started to pay for all the expenses ever since he got a job. We've been living together for probably 3 years now. I've paid for everythig for the past 2 years, but now he offered to pay for the rest. So, this is also basically where most of my savings went. I also meet my mom once a week, and help to pay for the dog foods and such.

I just want to vent and would appreciate some piece of advice. No bashing, please.

Note: my mom lives in the Philippines and she was the person who discouraged me to live in Germany with my dad. Basically, she wanted me to live with her until God knows when. This is why I moved out, so I can become independent and free from her control. She was too over-protective before.
