Help responding to customer

(Yes mistakes happen and I always ship missing parts at my own expense. Buyers shouldn’t pay for seller mistakes)

This one just doesn’t feel right to me. Buyer states that I am missing 1 slope from their order, and sent an extra of a plate. With a “how do you want to handle this?” This was a very small order in small quantities, and was very easy to double check before packing. My remaining quantities show that the correct quantities were shipped out.

For whatever reason this one feels like they just placed their order wrong. Is there a way to respond to verify that or should I just take the L and move on?

USPS is increasing their rates by 8% right after they just increased rates by 10% in January..

Do you guys continue to pass these increases through to the buyer? Or eat any costs?

I used to have $5 flat shipping for 2023-2024 (as my store was smaller and I wanted to get more sales under my belt). Now I feel every few months I have to keep going in and increasing instant checkout shipping rates on my buyers
