Tai Chi

Good day everyone, just a question about anyone who has had experience with any Tai Chi classes in Red Deer. I see online there is one at St. Lukes Church, beginner class starting in September, but no one is getting back to me and wanted to see if it still exists.

I see there is one north Red Deer as well...

Any info or experience anyone has to share would be amazing, thanks in advance!

Witnessed a little romance last night ...Frank & Beauty

Last night I watched something I've never seen before.

Frank landed on my balcony, looking extra floofy. A few moments later Beauty joined him. Frank started making these soft cooing sounds I'd always assumed came from another bird. Then they stood close together, the body language was very clear lol

And then Frank briefly hopped onto Beauty's back before they both puffed up their feathers. After that, Beauty went back to eating and Frank perched nearby. Pretty sure I had witnessed a crow date. Part of me felt like I should have turned my head (which I would have if Frank had stayed up on Beauty lol).

None the less, I felt quite honored to see such gentle romantic behavior.

Not a great picture of the two of them, and this pciture wasnt from last night, but wanted to iunclude pic of the both of them for reference.

Small bird feeder has been compromised....

Welp, this might be why my little ones haven't been coming by as much. This feeder is up on a shelving unit tucked into the corner of my balcony.
Frank, who was my first crow visitor never went up there, he was happy with my makeshift feeder on the railing.
His mate, Beauty is a little more assertive and tenacious. Lol She is quite jumpy as well, I imagine she has alot on her plate. 😉

Had to share this up close of her getting some grubs. 💕🐦‍⬛😁

Crowships :-)

Does anyone else find that these crowships we have become apart of are highlights of your day? That your mental/emotional state has significantly improved. That when your outside, no matter where you are you are constantly looking for corvids, or any bird for that matter?

I quit drinking 8mths ago today, I was 100% an alcoholic, almost ruined my life. And had I continued it would have killed me…

Since I have become enamoured by these wonderful birds this past year, my mental, emotional, spiritual well being has improved 110%. I was feeling pretty good before I became a crow fan, but since March when I became very interested in corvids and other birds that I honestly have some of the happiest days. I don’t get anxious anymore, I feel at peace and literally can feel and see the beauty in the nature around me. Just wondering if anyone else has had such profound changes in their life because of these wonderful birbs.

Frank is in the zone.

Frank! Love this crow!
From what I have noticed as I watch from a distance, inside my apartment or when I wait for the bus, or out for a walk.
Frank travels back and forth from apartment buildings trees, tall light posts and utility poles. Monitoring his territory,...well maybe it's not solely his... but the way he carries himself I know he must be fairly high up in the ranks. lol in my eyes anyways

I took this photo this afternoon and wanted to share. He had just left my balcony after snacking on some shredded chicken, meal worms and peanuts. I like thinking that my balcony is apart of his zone.

Frank is protecting his turf

Poor Max (the magpie), I feel bad about it, but let them duke it out. The worst Frank does is swoop in and scare Max off. But don't worry, Max & Ruby (magpies) always get their treats too, they are just a littl emore cautious now, or used to the interuption.

I can't help but feel proud to have Frank "protecting" the balcony turf.

I don’t have it in this video but earlier Frank brought a friend.

I usually stay quite far away, but I must’ve done something in my apartment and I scared away the friend that Frank brought, but Frank came back later and saw that I left some egg for him and he decided to make a little crow soup.

It’s so much fun having these little encounters they definitely make a day feel magical.

Came up with this contraption earlier this week, the one I tried before wouldn’t securely to my railing.
This crow comes multiple times a day, generally early and early evening. I added a water dish yesterday and although he was unsure about it yesterday, glad he tried it out today.
