Erasmus Ukrainian exchange student (student accommodation vs digs vs shares)

Hi all, hoping for some local knowledge since I have been doing this search more than 2 months from abroad and I still cant find anything. The hardest part is not finding place, it is that nobody answer.

I'm a 4th-year CS student coming to UCD for an Erasmus exchange semester (28 Aug – 26 Dec 2026). Budget is around €600-850/month all-in (bills included), and ideally somewhere I can walk or cycle or ride to Belfield in under 30-60 min.

So far everything student-accommodation-branded (Aparto, Yugo, etc.) is coming in at €1,000+/month even for the "budget" options, way outside what I can afford. I've been going through Daft, CollegeCribs, digs, HomeStay, AccommodationPad and Hosting Power with mixed luck — a lot of no-replies.

A few questions for anyone who's been through this:

  • Do you have any dorm for students in Dublin and do they accept students from other unis?
  • Is there actually any realistic dorm option in my price limit?

Really appreciate any pointers — trying to find something with under two weeks left before I fly out. Thanks!

3rd-year Ukranian Erasmus Student Looking for a Room near UCD

I’m a 3rd-year Computer Science student from Ukraine, coming to University College Dublin (UCD) for the Autumn trimester (September to December) on an Erasmus exchange program.

I am looking for accommodation(dormitary, shared room...) for Fall semester within walking distance of the university.

I have a few friends who is coming with me, so we can rent together.

I would appreciate any advice on how to avoid scammers and where else I should look for reliable housing.

Thanks

20yo Mitacs research student at UofM looking for peer buddies (18-24) for inline skating, board games, and exploring Winnipeg! 🎲

Hey everyone! I just arrived from Ukraine for a 3-month Mitacs research internship at the University of Manitoba. I'm 20, and I really want to explore the city from head to toe and meet new people around my age (18-24ish).

I'm not into just sitting around, so I'm looking for people to hang out with IRL. I’m down for anything:

  • Inline skating (but I dont have it, so if you know where I can borrow, it would be great)
  • Cycling (the same as with inline skating)
  • Board games
  • Swimming, or just wandering around the city
  • Video games or movies when the weather is bad

Heads up: My English is a work in progress, so it's a great opportunity for me to break the language barrier.

If you like live life to the fullest like me, drop a comment or hit me up in DMs with a bit about yourself (and your Instagram if you're comfortable). Let's make this summer fun! 🚀
