I searched for agents seeking Science-Fantasy manuscripts. Long story short, Book Bakers and indie publisher Blaft are the only ones open to SFF.

Most agencies have publicly announced that they are closed to SFF, and the ones that are open on paper have no history of acquiring any Science-Fantasy for the past two to three years.

I am aware that the SFF landscape is absent in India. With Book Bakers being the one of the "two" options available — if you can call them so — Suhail has requested an upfront fee... he always does.

Would you please be kind enough to share your view and experience?

I've completed my fifth manuscript — Science Fantasy — and was finalising my agent list.

Out of all the names, only Jacaranda Literary Agency and Lotus Lane Literary seem legitimate from the research I've done.

The more famous names — Suhail Mathur/Book Bakers, Mita Kapur/Siyahi, Red Ink — led to demoralising results in my personal experience, so I'll be avoiding these three based on that.

Do you have any names that aren't as well-known but are legitimate and not fraudulent?
