First “hive” while on Xolair for 3 months

Any advice?? It’s only on my right wrist after having a tight hair tie on it, but i haven’t had any breakthrough and this one isn’t too itchy or anything. Just worried about spreading or if it isn’t a hive somehow??

Xolair Side effects??

Wondering if anyone has this issue. I’m gonna try to keep it short, but i’ve been on Xolair since April (I think). Anyways i’ve been in complete remission since my first shot BUT I have been getting really red, dry-flaky, bumpy patches on my face/neck that i didn’t have prior to being on it. I get my shot once every 4 weeks and the patches are sligjtly spreading on my face more after each one. I talked to my allergist and she said it’s possible I got dermatitis from the med but it really only affects 2% of the users. My only issue is nothing seems to help the dry patches long term. I don’t want this to come off as me being ungrateful because it’s a good trade off vs. full body and face hives+anaphylaxis. It’s still kind of frustrating though and I’m worried about it spreading all over. Any advice?

Parasites

I’m curious if anyone has tried parasite cleansing for chronic autoimmune urticaria? My mom is a conspiracy theorists and is convinced the hives i’ve had since i was 12 were caused by a parasite/heavy metal toxins😭. Before I got on Xolair I was seriously considering it but now that i’ve been on Xolair and it’s been working I haven’t really thought about it, maybe it’d be worth it if the Xolair does stop working after a couple years? Idk if DIY parasite cleanses are reputable or safe or how they work but just curious if anyone has attempted or if anyone knows if it’s legit.

Edit: I realize how stupid this question is, it just stems from being so desperate for some answers.

Autoimmune CSU Resolved!

Hi Guys! i’ve never really posted on here before but believe I have come to this subreddit MANY times in search of some kind of hope. And here I am now hive free for 3 months, thought I would share my story in hopes of helping anyone even if it’s just a little. For context I am 20yo F and have had spontaneous chronic urticaria since I was about 12 years old. In my case the peak of my hives was over the summer time (technically the peak was march-september) and i’ve been to on countless meds, fasts, whatever you can think of i’ve probably tried it. As well as seeing countless allergist and immunologists with zero answers. It was getting to the point where I would go anaphylactic, go to the er and told them that I was going to be a danger to myself if I didn’t find relief soon. Anyways, I was on prednisone basically all of last year which was a nightmare. I went anaphylactic a few times and was having full body, and face breakouts. Which I think was due to being on Dupixent last summer which made my breakouts 100X worse than they used to be. I was running out of options. I got put on a new health insurance plan per my fiancée and had a new allergist. We did do extensive blood tests and found that i was severely deficient in vitamin d. I was put on prescription and it did bring down the severity of my hives but they did not go away by any means. The next option was xolair which i was fully against due to my experience with Dupixent (extremely painful, made the breakouts and anaphylaxis start for some reason) But I decided to try it. By the grace of God i am HIVE FREE. On my 3rd shot as of now and the only side effect i have is some eczema on my face and I can’t really complain. No weight gain or suicidal thoughts like on prednisone. Just finally hive free and I’m starting to taper down on Cetirizine after taking 40mg a day on top of my other meds. I’m hoping and praying it works long term since i haven’t had much luck with a medication working for more than a few months before this. I’m at a loss with the closure end of it since we still have 0 clue as to what is triggering my hives but being hive free has significantly helped my quality of life so I can’t complain too much. I was also considering starting injectable peptides if the Xolair didn’t work. Anywho i’m sure I left things out and I apologize if this was a hard read! I’m at work right now and was typing this out whenever I got a break. Happy to discuss further in the comments!
