Does anyone use a leica x6 for tree surveys?

I just got one believing it didn't need to laser the top of a tree, which is notoriously bad for reflecting lasers. Instead it uses the inbuilt inclination measure and the distance to the base of the tree.

However I keep getting the 255 error when trying to log the top height. The active tracking seems to work OK. But I can log it on the device.
