I've been trying to set up a 2v2 single hero game so I can introduce one of my friends to the game without overwhelming them by having me team up with them to defeat NPCs. The best template I could find Flashback, but it posed some questions like why does it show 8 players on the layout but only allow 2 players to play the map? do you spawn in any of the 8 spots randomly? do NPC players spawn in any spots the 2 players don't spawn in?

If anyone could provide an answer to any of these questions it would be much appreciated as I'm a fairly new to might and magic myself and barely understand how templates work in the first place.
