My entire life, my mom and my grandma told me how smart he was. Now after my grandma is gone, my mom is telling me he's a " Flowers for Algernon" situation. However, I think he can hold down some kind of job, but he chooses to just sit in the living room and mess around on his computer. He told my mom that he would get food stamps, but only did for one month and gave up on it. And he said he would pay for better internet and gave up on it after one month. Now it's just me, my mom, and him. And he just doesn't do anything to help us keep the house in any kind of decent shape. He has this corner that is held in by a table and a room divider which I can always hear countless crushed soda/energy drink cans pushed around whenever he wakes up. He almost never takes a shower; he usually smells like bad body odor and feces. He's responsible for more than like ninety percent of the dirty dishes in the household, and whenever I ask him about it he gets angry and defensive about it. He barely ever takes out the trash, cleans dishes, or does household chores. Whenever he actually does anything it's just a token effort to appease our mom. However, she's not going to be around forever. It's a devastating thought, but she's not going to be around forever, and I'm not going to allow him to live off of me the same way she lets him live off of her. What should I do? (To any extreme bleeding hearts you can contact me so he can live off of you in the same way)
