Offers..

No offers available.. too many onboards? I usually work early morning blocks and am never offered later times, ie later morning, afternoon or evening. Anyone else? Also, once I pick up one block, all the others disappear for the day, even when my first block ends.

Damned if you do, or if you don’t..

Just got a ding for not delivering a package directly to the customer. This was for a block last Sunday from 3:15-6:45 AM. I didn’t have any apartments, and because Amazon says not to call them before 8, I’m sure I just left it at their front door with a picture. Now they’re saying they didn’t get it.

Would you have done anything different? How we’re responsible for what happens to a package after we deliver it to the correct location is beyond me.

I usually do 3:15-4 am start times but this morning I took a 4 hour at 6:45. Hopefully going back to my regular route tomorrow.😅

So I was scrolling on Reddit and came across Spark drivers. I get that every gig has its drawbacks, but at least they’re given the information they need in order to make a good business decision. Amazon, however, operates on a deceit mode by not telling us how many miles are involved when we accept a block.

I took a hit today because I refused a route that would have easily been 150 miles by the time I made it back home. Checked in, went to the cart, saw where I’d be going, and left without scanning. I’d rather take the hit for a missed block than get paid and take a ding for each undelivered package.

How they expect us to run our cars into the ground with gas prices the way they are, then offering us pennies is so messed up.

Taking a hit for missing a block.. didn’t even scan the cart. Better that than putting a huge amount of mileage in and back home, or getting paid and taking the dings. Not worth it either way. Scamazon strikes again. What a joke.🖕🤬

And finished in 3! 🙌 Reminded me of the good old days 😂 What’s weird is that it was the same route and number of packages that I usually get when I do a 3.5, like any other day. I have another one scheduled for tomorrow and we’ll see if today was just a fluke.

Rates were previously $26/hr. Now they’re $21.50. They must have onboarded a bunch of newbies who don’t know any better. I was already cutting back on blocks because of the high gas prices, but this is insane.😤🤬

Would you do a 3 1/2 hour block out of VOR3? I’m aware that the base rate of $26 is the norm now and I take those because they rarely surge, but I take 4 hour routes simply because it’s basically the same mileage. For those of you who do the 3.5 for $91, do you find them worth it? I have one scheduled for the morning, but am considering canceling it. The risk is that I won’t get a higher offer. Thoughts?

I do, almost exclusively, ssd. For months, I’ve been being sent to either the Gateway district or Oregon City. When I do OC, it’s over 100 miles when I make it back home.

I do ssd basically because I see higher rates. Not sure if it’s just my luck, but every time I’ve done dpd2, which is about 10 minutes from home, I’ve been sent to Kelso and Longview. The last one I tried took me out that ocean highway ffs. 🤦‍♀️

Thoughts on the dot com vs ssd (vor3) and yes I already know the parking situation over there is chaotic but I’m pretty used to it.😅

If you’re all in on dot coms, how do you justify the lower rates?

Hypothetical scenario of course (they’ll never do it) but.. If they were to pay based on miles at a dollar per mile, would you be good with that? That way, lower paying blocks would pay less, and longer routes would pay more, but you’d have a good idea what your mileage would be before you accept them. Seems more in line with being an independent contractor and having the autonomy to make informed decisions. Just curious. 🤷‍♀️

Anyone seeing surges in the early mornings out of VOR3 or DPD2? What times and rates are you seeing? I wake up around midnight to check and I’m only seeing VOR3 for maybe $10 above the ridiculously low norm. I refuse to take the low ball offers.
