Been doing some poe lore research.
Goes a little something like this.
The precursors aka the Ancients, a civilization that mastered technology and pre date corruption.
Sin or the hooded one used the seed of corruption to give birth to The Beast.
The Beast fed on the gods and thus created corruption.
Skill gems aka virtue gems are a byproduct of the beast / corruption.
What im curious about is since the ancients predate the corruption.
This means they mastered their craft and their "power" comes without using "skill gems". So what would their tool kit look like?
What does this mean as a player should we come face to face with said ancients in a battle. What will the rewards be. If they are so advanced, what will the drops look like.
Will we get access to new player power via new item slots? Like a relic slot or maybe a unique weapon type we cant get anywhere else with a specific embedded power ?
Or Is it just simply same type of rewards we see from every other encounter in the game?
To me since they predate corruption and are so technologically advanced they should probably offer different rewards not found anywhere else and offer power that is not based off corruption.
I might just be overthinking though.
Technically the weapon shown in the 2nd teaser is exactly the type of weapon and power the ancients would be known to have.
What else would they have??? what could we possibly see 👀
a brand new crafting mechanic to poe? like masterwork or inscription?
ancient influenced items?
