Moe is wrecking my fam

my hubby is a Mid Career switch and just started teaching this year. I feel like ever since he entered moe, he has been crazy exhausted, working almost 12 hours everyday and coming home to do EVEN MORE work everyday, working EVERY weekend, and it has just caused a lot of stress in our family because he is SOOO stressed and overtired. He also often complains because his previous job paid more and doesn’t overwork him to the bones.

It doesn’t help that we have 3 kids. I try not to burden him more by asking him to help out at home but I’m worried because I’ll be going back to work eventually (maternity now)

Just curious, is every teacher you know overworked , especially in secondary school? Does it ever get better ?? Should I just ask him to quit after his bond ends ?

Seriously worried about my whole family’s welfare because when he is so overtired , how can he even be there for the kids ?

Hi everyone. For context, I have 2 girls (4 years old and newborn). My mum recently came over to help me with some chores but she’s getting on in age and I don’t want to tax on her in the long run.. so I was thinking of getting a helper in the future.

But the problem is.. both my husband and I are used to being quite frugal in our spendings. For example, when we go out to eat, we usually order the cheapest and we also share whenever we can. So I cannot picture us going out to restaurants and I might have to ask helper to order anything she wants. At the same time, I don’t want to mistreat her. How do you (people with helpers) navigate situations like that?

My husband is also not very open to having someone stay with us because he values his privacy. Another problem is space. I don’t have a spare room for now ( one master BR, one children room and one study). Should I sacrifice my study or is it okay for helper to sleep with the children?

I would like to get some opinions on whether I should consider a helper, or just live without one.
