The one that was delayed 4 hours and then had to emergency land in Madrid. Turned a 6 hour travel day into a 24 hour travel day (not the person having a medical emergency’s fault at all).
Just, how insane and badly-handled was that whole day. The cabin crew were amazing, though.
What’s interesting is that I went to file a compensation claim for the initial flight delay, and Ryanair claims that the flight status is ‘diverted’, and since it was due to a medical emergency which was out of their hands, means they’re not liable for anything. They’re forgetting, though, that in addition to a major disruption of diversion we still had to endure over 4 hours of a wait due to a confirmed ‘technical problem’ which is a circumstance they’re generally liable for. The flight was originally scheduled for 15:45, and we didn’t board until 19:20. I’m certain we weren’t in the air until 20:00 at the earliest. They’re the absolute worst company. It’s a shame they’re not consistently that cheap anymore, because their behaviour was easy to overlook when you were actually benefitting from it.
Anyway. I submitted a claim with one of those companies who takes like 30% of the win fee but I’ll take it. I encourage everyone else to do the same.
