How serious is the 20kg bag vs 23kg?
We booked plus (includes 20kg bag) but are bags are like 20.5kg ish. Is that going to be a problem?

My flight is in 48h and I just got a notification my status was rejected. I have settled status in the UK and I have not changed my passport info since getting it. I have clicked for a recheck. This is quite stressful for me as I haven't flown before new rules were introduced. Anyone else been in that situation? I'm aware that it's been an issue for many people but all i have to do is go up to a desk on a day of mu flight with share-code and other stuff?
Hello guys!
Me and my best friend are about to fly tomorrow for the first time.
I checked us in, but I think my birthday ended up being on both of ours tickets.
How can I fix this? Would there be any issues at the airport if I cant fix it in time?
Haven’t travelled on Ryanair and just want to know how long before your flight can you drop off your bags before you head through security.
Thanks in advance
Sorry for the trivial question but I'm flying tomorrow at 6.25 pm from Charleroi to Toulouse. I received an email telling me that I should be 3 hours before at the airport for the security check. But I took the fast track and I am going to take the shuttle from Gare du Midi. Is it enough if I am there at 5PM?
I’ve flown with Ryanair quite a few times and I’ve never seen anyone get their bags checked.
Me personally I’ve been to Barcelona, Sarajevo and Stansted quite a few times.
The only time I saw someone get their bag checked was one backpacker who carried a huge bag.
But other than that I’ve never had anyone check my bags or I’ve seen them doing it.
Usually i only use Ryanair to go to London because I will only need a backpack. And to Bosnia because it’s the only airline that offers flights there.
For other destinations I go with a different airline.
But I was wondering if the problem is specific countries or airports that might be as bad as some people are saying here. And not the company itself.
My friend had our tickets on her phone, and she doesn't remember her password to the account. Anyone know what the best thing we could do now is?

Hi everyone, yesterday on my way back from Malta I witnessed something quite unpleasant. The gate agents asked all non-priority passengers to measure their backpacks (I had priority, so it didn't affect me directly).
I saw with my own eyes backpacks that clearly fit the required dimensions—they even passed the sizer check—but the owners were still forced to pay a €60 fee.
After doing some research, I found out that the agents weren't even employed directly by Ryanair, but belonged to a company called Aviaserve, which Ryanair outsources to.
Reading through various news reports, I learned that for every extra fee they charge, the agents get a percentage (I'm not entirely sure about this, but it would make sense).
Long story short, I think after yesterday I’ll only fly with a cabin suitcase, because if I ever had to deal with a ridiculous circus like that, I don't know how I'd react.
Has anyone else had a similar experience recently?
I am proposing to check in this box at GLA tomorrow for a flight to Malaga. (I will take the carrying strap off before checking the box.)
The box contains a framed painting.
The box is 87cm wide, 71cm tall and 14cm depth.
Weight is 6kg.
Ryanair maximum checked luggage size is 80x120x120cm
Right now I can buy a 10kg bag for £36 but it does refer to a wheelie bag.
The chat bot said that my box exceeds the maximum width, even although it clearly does not; so has to go to special handling and pay an appropriate fee.
I have done this before with a smaller box from PIK to AGP and simply paid for the box online as if it was a bag. At PIK check in I was directed to special cargo where I showed that I had paid for a checked bag and did not have to pay any extra fee.
Question - do I buy a 10kg bag now and present myself and the box at Ryanair check in, expecting to be redirected to special handling; or do not buy anything online and go straight to special handling being prepared to pay an airport handling fee?
I'm not able to speak to Swissport who are Ryanair's handling agents at GLA and cannot get through to a real person at Ryanair CS.
Any advice would be appreciated.
As above, I am truly wondering if that ever happened to anyone here!
I have travelled at least 12 times a year in the past 5years and I've always hoped for it, of course!
Any lucky dog here?
I'm all ears! :)
Long story short, I used a saved name when booking a flight from CPH to STN. The First Name field says my first name, however, the First Surname field displays my middle name. I can’t see my Surname anywhere. Will I need to change the First Surname field to my surname?
Bit confused as to how this happened.
Hi guys sorry if this is a dumb question but I wanna like bring a beach towel with me but it lowkey won’t rlly fit well into my bag since it’s big, so do you know if I’m able to wear it over my shoulders like as if it were a neck pillow or like a jumper or would Ryanair be strict with this? Idk if anyone has tried this either so like idk if anyone would be able to give me advice on this, but if you’ve tried pls lmk how it went. 🙏🙏🙏🙏 thank you
(I’ve added a picture in case it’s hard to understand what I’m trynna describe bc idrk how to put it in words loll, but like basically smth like that but instead of the jumper pretend it’s the towel, thank you)
And I don't mean the "just after landing clapping". But isn't arriving 20/30 minutes early on a 2h30m flight worth of a bit of recognition?
A little "yes, that could come handy, welldonethankyouverymuch" after the Pilot announcement.
By the way, I don't know what percentage is pilots skills and what random events like winds/weather/traffic or even the passengers and cargo weight influence the flight.
Thank you
Hi
My wife and I were due to go on Holiday with friends in June. We are shortarses, they are freakishly tall so they booked the extra leg room seats and we booked the row behind.
Unfortunately, due a stroke our friends can sadly no longer travel in the near future (and have had a payout from the insurance). Ryanair say not to bother cancelling their booking - will try and reclaim the tax when we get back.
My question is even though we aren't checking them in now, will their seats still be available for us to move into or will Ryanair resell/reallocate them?
Thanks
Hi everyone,
I booked a Ryanair flight for my partner and myself (departure in 3 days). During the booking process, we are almost certain that we entered her correct surname (J), however the booking confirmation shows my surname (S) instead of hers.
It appears her surname was overwritten/duplicated in the system with my surname.
We contacted Ryanair support multiple times (chat + agent), but they insist this is a standard name change and want to charge a €115 fee. We explained that this is not a voluntary name change but must be a system/data entry error, but they refuse to investigate further without charging.
At this point we are stuck, because:
Flight is in 3 days, support says no correction without fee and we are unsure whether we can escalate this further or if we are forced to pay
Has anyone here experienced something similar?
Should we just show up at the airport counter 3 hours early and ask if they can help us? Do the gate agents have more common sense, or will they charge me as well?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!
Has anyone else had issues with ETAs and checking in for flights in the app when you're a dual citizen?
For context, I'm a duel EU-UK citizen so don't require an ETA to come back into the UK. However, I booked my flights using my EU passport (force of habit) and the outbound journey went smoothly.
On my way back, I tried to check in with the app but it wouldn't let me go beyond the page asking for my ETA - again, I don't need one as I have a British passport. But because id booked in my other one, it had a strop.
So I went to the check in at the airport and although they were able to change the passport related to the booking, they made me pay for the in person check-in. They did advise that as it's a logistical issue with their app, I should claim a refund.
I'm now in a fight with the customer support team as they keep saying to clear the cache and reset the app next time this happens, without acknowledging that this isn't an app issue per se. They've now closed the case saying that regardless, in person check in comes at a cost so to suck it up.
Has anyone else experienced this? This seems incredibly petty, especially as their process is the problem.
Are fire eating torches allowed in a cabin bag?
They are brand new so no fuel or anything on the wicks. Got a performance and need to take them with me.
Anyone managed to fly with them without issues?
Flight to the EU from manchester.
hello 👋 travelling with Ryanair in June and have booked the family plus fare. Bag allowance is one 20kg for the group plus 1 checked 10kg per person. my question is can we pool the baggage allowance and check in 2x 20kg rather than 4x 10kg. thanks in advance for any replies 😁
With the upcoming sixth flight next week that I will not going to travel due to some unexpected work related, I thought maybe I ask here if a refund could be done? Or at least some discount on the next flight, I know Ryan air is strict lol but though to give it a shot and ask here
Any feedback or insights is appreciated 😊
Have I just been lucky or have they toned it down a little?
